LA CHICA DE AYER is a Spanish television series that aired on Antena 3 TV channel between 26 April and 14 June 2009. It was a remake of the BBC series LIFE ON MARS that tells the story of a policeman that after suffering a car accident travels back in time. The show took its name after the Spanish hit song 'La Chica de Ayer' by Nacha Pop following the same pattern the British version did naming the show after David Bowie's classic song 'Life on Mars?'. Starring Ernesto Alterio in main role as police officer Samuel Santos. In the Spanish version, Samuel travels back to 1977 post-Franco Spain and finds himself working under the command of Quin Gallardo (Antonio Garrido), a tough old-school policeman that is contemptuous of Samuel politically correct methods.
